How to study for a math test
Reading a worked example feels like learning, but math is learned by solving. Here is a simple way to prepare.
Start from your homework and notes
List the problem types from your homework and notes. Those are the ones your teacher will test.
Solve before you look
Attempt each problem on paper first. Checking the answer comes after, not before.
Practice with fresh numbers
Doing the same problem type with new numbers shows whether you know the method or just remember the answer.
Keep a list of mistakes
Write down every problem you got wrong and why, then redo those a day later.
Finish with a mixed test
Do one timed set that mixes every topic, since the real test will not be sorted by chapter.
