Active recall: the study method that works
Active recall means trying to produce an answer from memory. It feels harder than rereading, and that effort is why it works.
What it is
You close the notes and try to answer a question, explain an idea or solve a problem from memory.
Why it works
Pulling information out of memory strengthens it more than seeing it again, even when you get the answer wrong.
How to do it
Use practice questions, flashcards, or write down everything you remember about a topic and then check your notes.
Use feedback
After you answer, read the explanation. The correction is where much of the learning happens.
Make it automatic
QuizAde writes the questions from your own material so you can start recalling right away.
